Juan Carlos Tugumbango / JK Arts. / 34 years old
I liked drawing from the age of 5 and I took it more professionally at the age of 25 when I was in college.
Self-taught
Some of my inspirations, I think, are:
Dragon Ball was the first thing I started drawing.
Anime and manga—I discovered this style in my teens and focused on it because I enjoyed it.
Another thing that inspires me is looking at other artists' work; it really helps motivate me to keep practicing.
Software – Clip Studio Paint
Hardware - Xp-pen artist pro 16 gen 2
My strengths are drawing female characters (anime), and my weaknesses, I think, are creating backgrounds of architecture, animals, and armor with a lot of detail; these are things I'd like to improve a bit more.
Lillith
Minji, the Scythe
I'd like to release my own products featuring my illustrations, create Artbooks, and above all, continue posting on social media as I do now.
The basics. Practice, consistency, and patience help you improve.
Don't compare yourself to other artists, it's demotivating.
Learn from other artists; that way you can take things from each of them and put them into practice with your drawings.
You can also ask these artists for advice on social media. Some of them actually reply.
Now with streaming platforms, artists do live drawing sessions; you can watch it, which is very helpful for seeing the process of their work.
